  1. In the study of human diseases, animal experiments examine an artificial “model” of the disease and not the human disease itself.
  2. The physiological and genetic differences between humans and animals are reflected in the fact that 92% of drugs that have been proven to be safe and effective in animal trials turn out to be dangerous or ineffective in human clinical trials.
  3. Many important breakthroughs in medicine have been delayed due to misleading information originating from animal experiments.
  4. Some of the experiments conducted are ‘teaching and learning experiments’ that are repeated every year. These experiments provide no new knowledge and do not advance the research at all.
  5. Some of the experiments are ‘agricultural experiments’ aimed at maximizing the profits of the animal food industries, at the expense of the already miserable animals.
  6. The study of humans through the use of animal models is done out of convenience considerations, not because it is the most accurate and reliable way to obtain new knowledge about the human body.
  7. Animal experiments waste public resources that could have been invested in the health system and in targeted research in humans rather than animals.
  8. In Israel there is no transparency when it comes to the use of animals in research.
  9. The “ethical” committees consist of animal researchers who give approvals to themselves. The purpose of the committees is not to protect the animals and they exist only to provide a moral ‘rubber stamp’ for animal experiments.
  10. Animal experiments are cruel and unjust.
