Goodbye beloved Max

Max got to us a few years ago, at the age of 7. He used to belong to an elderly woman who had dementia. The social worker said he didn’t get along with the woman’s care-giver, but really she didn’t get along with him.

He was chubby, a cat that used to have a home, used to be pampered, and when he found himself in a cage he was in total shock, terrified and hissing at everyone. It took a whole month for him to calm down and join the odd group of our office cats.

Slowly but surely he found his spots for sleeping and hiding, went out on walks in the sun, and even started to demand cuddles and pets, though looking into his eyes the sadness was always there, searching and asking for the home he once had.

Max, we know your broken heart, that never fully healed, loved us and was grateful. We will miss you forever.
