We petitioned the Supreme Court today and requested that it orders the Ministry of Agriculture to allocate the budgets, indicated by law, to reduce the overpopulation of dogs and cats.
Overpopulation of roaming dogs and cats means their lives are short and full of suffering. Yearly budgets indicated by law are meant to deal with overpopulation, but the Ministry of Agriculture, which is responsible for allocating them, is stalling, even after countless petitions we have filed.
As of February, the Ministry still hasn’t even published a tender draft, as it does every year. That means it will take many more months until the decision is made and the chosen municipalities receive the budget. Years of experience show that in order to succeed in minimizing the overpopulation of roaming cats and dogs, efforts must be made continuously and routinely, otherwise all accomplishments go to waste.
The Ministry of Agriculture – what are you waiting for??
