גילה גמליאל – Gila Gamliel the Minister of Environmental Protection has signed the ban on the trade in fur for fashion!
After years of struggles, this is a big win for us and our partners at אנימלס and International Anti-Fur Coalition, as well as 86% of the public that supported this decision, with the help of Tal Gilboa the Prime Minister’s advisor on animal rights. And most of all, it is a win for the animals tortured and killed in the horrific fur industry.
With all the joy, a few words on what is excluded from the ban: we of course believe a total ban on fur would be much better, without any of the exclusions, the largest, most significant one is the exclusion of use for religious purposes. We believe one day we’ll get there too, and we will keep fighting so that in the future all animal products are nothing more than a strange, distant memory.
But in the meantime, even in its currenet version, the ban is almost unprecedented in the entire world: the only other country to pass a similar ban is California, where fur trade will be prohibited from 2023.
For now, each and every one of us can help animals and stop the abuse by simply not buying any animal products , fur, leather, down or wool used in the fashion industry, or any other animal products at all. and we will k
